You and your team will partner closely with HR leaders and the business and lead our strategic approach to global compensation that drives a focus on delivering competitive compensation programs in a simplified way around the world.

What You Will Be Doing:

You and your team will focus on four key areas:

Compensation Partnerships

Ensure that all of Elastic's compensation programs align with the our overall goals, comply with legal requirements and an inspiring culture by attracting, rewarding and retaining amazing people.

  • Oversee and coordinate all compensation activities including salary and equity programs.
  • Consult with and provide direction, guidance and resolution to global HRBP team and business leaders on compensation matters.
  • Advise on global mobility pay practices
  • Oversee separation/severance practices

Market Data

Ensure that our market data aligns with our philosophy and that it supports the our overall compensation structure

  • Direct and manage the work of job matching and market data submission and analysis supported by the PayScale tool
  • Validate and maintain salary banding & leveling framework globally
  • Develop an approach to hard-to-hire or critical roles in highly competitive or niche markets

Compensation Planning Cycles

Responsible for the planning and execution of a mid-year and year-end compensation planning cycles with the upcoming launch of Workday

  • Lead for the Advanced Compensation Workday module in Workday
  • Project lead the cycle and ensure timely execution, with a low error ratio
  • Develop easy-to-understand pay guidelines for manages and simple employee communication


Responsible for monitoring our global pay practices:

  • Oversee global pay gap reporting and equal pay analysis
  • Work with Recruiting to ensure equal pay treatment at offer stage
What You Bring Along:
  • Strong data analytics skills and experience with Radford (mandatory)
  • Experience managing compensation cycles (mandatory)
  • 12+ years progressive experience leading global compensation
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or CCP a plus
  • Experience building global compensation frameworks from the ground up
  • Understanding of Workday Advanced Compensation module a plus
  • Keen understanding of various methods of financing compensation plans and impact on company financials, accounting, and payroll
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements related to compensation
  • Experience influencing leadership on compensation methodology and philosophy
  • Strategic, critical thinker who isn’t afraid to get into the weeds; real passion for problem solving
  • Ability to build effective work relationships at all levels of the organization, influence behavior, and lead change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • High degree of integrity and honesty; ability to exercise confidentiality and neutrality in complex and sensitive situations.
  • A sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches definitely a plus
