GitHub Director, Ecosystem Engineering

GitHub is looking for an experienced Director to lead multiple teams within our Ecosystem group. Together we will create products that are integral to how people build software and can be integrated into the entire software lifecycle. The Engineering organization is highly distributed -- you should embrace an environment of asynchronous communication. We expect you to have strong communication skills and be able to build working relationships with coworkers in locations around the globe.

In this position, you will work closely with the VP of Ecosystem and Engineering Managers. You will also be part of a community dedicated to making a positive impact.

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have managed and developed engineering managers
  • You have successfully and responsibly scaled engineering teams
  • You have a track record of shipping and owning impactful, consumer-facing products & platforms
  • You are passionate about building products that developers love
  • You are invested in helping others improve
  • You make inclusive and timely decisions
  • You seek to deliver business value and avoid waste
  • You are comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have worked in a modern, micro-service based architecture with a focus on product and UI composition
  • You have domain expertise in developer tooling + flow
  • You have built, maintained, and evolved a set of public APIs, SDKs, and identify services as part of a larger consumer product
  • You are a regular advocate for the toolchain in your org
  • You have used Git as a developer
