Be Money Social Media and Community Manager

Be Money is an LGBT+ focused fintech company that aims to take the awkwardness out of traditional banking and transform the way that LGBT+ people think about their money. We believe in a world where being LGBT+ has no bearing on your financial wellbeing and have created Be Money to help us achieve that goal.

Our community has almost $1B spending power in the US and yet 53% of LGBT+ people struggle to maintain regular savings. Despite that, LGBT+ people have a wide and diverse range of goals that they need financial help to achieve, that include surrogacies, gender transitions, or even retiring in an queer-friendly beach town.

Our mission is to become the first LGBT+ debit account and investment platform that focuses on the financial empowerment of the whole community.

We want to bring specialist LGBT+ digital banking to life. Not with cheap gimmicks, but by empowering LGBT+ people to achieve their life goals though world-class digital banking.

And because all LGBT+ people deserve the chance to be their best selves, we’ll be investing a substantial part of our profits back into local projects targeting the most underprivileged LGBT+ people in our community.

The opportunity
We’re seeking a Community Manager to join our team to help us build and grow our social media presence and to manage our user community.

You’ll be responsible for:
Plan and deliver social media strategy and content plan across B2C and B2B channels.
Defining our tone of voice, in line with our brand objectives.
Developing, curating and sourcing content in a variety of media formats including video, imagery and written copy.
A/B testing content types to understand what’s most effective.
Being the “voice” of our brand to our customers, acting as the first point of contact.
Maintaining a database of contributors and influencers.
Driving user-generated content in our channels.
Developing and maintaining our community of LGBT+ and inclusive financial advisors and coaches.
Growing and supporting our Alpha and Beta user groups.

About You:
You’ll be a social media whizz with a flair for community building You should have:
2-3 years experience in a community management role for an LGBT+ media brand and/or widely recognised (tech) consumer brand.
Excellent copywriting skills, capable of developing content in areas such as long-form financial wellbeing tips, LGBT+ business profiles, user stories/social proof.
Proficiency in design, photography and videography software to create engaging content
Familiarity with common social media analytics platforms (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout, google analytics etc)
An excellent understanding of LGBT+ pop culture, influencers and internet culture and capable of tactfully inserting Be Money into the conversation where appropriate.
Great people skills, capable of building relationships and facilitating conversations online.
