elastic Test Engineer

As a Test Engineer, or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Elastic, you will play a meaningful role in testing mission critical applications for our IT team. Working with our Sr SDET, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated UI tests as well as analyzing and interpreting test results. Some occasional manual testing is required. This role involves working with major SaaS platforms like Salesforce and NetSuite as well as custom-built software, giving you the opportunity to grow your test automation skills while helping support the company's business.

What you will be doing:
  • developing, running, and debugging automated tests
  • analyzing test results, troubleshooting errors, and reporting defects
  • executing manual tests as needed
  • special projects
What You Bring Along:
  • 3-5 years prior experience in UI testing (manual & automated) of web based enterprise software
  • Testing Frameworks experience - experience using a testing framework such as jUnit, PyTest, Mocha, etc.
  • Manual testing experience - you must be thorough, detail oriented, and good at finding the bugs that others miss
  • Programming experience - you will use JavaScript in this role but prior experience in a similar language qualifies
  • UI Automation experience - some experience with Selenium, Webdriver.io or similar tool is required
  • You thrive in a team oriented environment with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
Bonus Points:
  • Distributed Version Control experience - i.e. Git/GitHub
  • Build Automation experience - some exposure/experience with Jenkins or similar tool is helpful
  • You have knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch and the Elastic Stack
