Position Summary

The Global Partner Operations Team is responsible for developing partnerships that produce mutually beneficial results for Marqeta and our strategic partner organizations. The Partner Operations team plays a vital role to deliver our vision to the market. Key to this role will be understanding the banking landscape, payments, and an ability to align internal stakeholders. You’ll be collaborating closely with the Marqeta extended team, including Business Development, Customer Success, Product, Compliance, and Legal, etc.
Marqeta is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Partner Operations who can drive the strategic and tactical vision for Marqeta’s Program Constructs. We seek a leader that collaborates cross-functionally to gain alignment and approvals as we launch new programs.

Primary Responsibilities

This role is about developing key relationships and processes at Marqeta.  It is a crucial role for the organization that requires a dynamic professional that excels in relationship management, product constructs, program delivery, customer on-boarding, and partner operations. You have an opportunity for tremendous impact as we scale the business.

Sales Enablement:

  • Engage with partners to fully vet business opportunities related to program constructs.
  • Participate in pipeline discussions to vet opportunities early.
  • Partner with vertical leads to ensure business needs are met related to program constructs. 
  • Develop and drive new processes to help enable sales to have better throughput, while ensuring adherence to partner criteria. 

Partner Operations and Business Process:

  • Serve as a thought leader with the ability to communicate and gain alignment with internal stakeholders around program constructs.
  • Collaborate with the bank, and network partnerships team to identify best bank fit given portfolio and business needs.
  • Lead process to develop net new constructs, as needed.
  • Drive the process to vet non-standard opportunities with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure Marqeta is staying ahead in the industry and our competition to continue to unlock revenue opportunities. This involves cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to unlock new verticals and features.
  • Participate in go-to-market readiness discussions
  • Own the creation of appropriate tools and artifacts that enable and memorialize individual opportunity reviews and set up successful implementations

 

Requirements 

Ability to drive process improvement across the organization, we’re looking for the following attributes:

  • 7+ years of experience in payments (Product, Strategy, Customer Delivery, Partnerships, Operations, etc.)
  • Ability to travel occasionally, ~10%
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Foundation of integrity and strong character to consistently represent Marqeta’s values
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive timelines while influencing stakeholders to do the same
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality deliverables
  • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written)
