GitLab Product PR Manager

This position is remote, based in North America.

The GitLab Product PR Manager will help GitLab build thought leadership platforms and drive conversation. This position is responsible for working with the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications on developing and overseeing the public relations strategy for GitLab’s product categories, and will work across teams and the globe to develop and execute public relations campaigns in line with GitLab initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute product PR campaigns
  • Work closely with product managers and product marketing  to identify product storylines and customer case studies
  • Work closely with executives, spokespeople and the greater organization to develop press releases, blog posts, contributed articles, media relations strategy for GitLab releases and other product news
  • Work closely with GitLab’s PR agency to secure media coverage for GitLab releases and other product news
  • Conduct media training for spokespeople
  • Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Oversee product awards submissions
  • Have your finger on the pulse of competitor news and technology trends and incorporate into product PR strategy
  • Report back on press activities, coverage, opportunities, successes and press feedback
  • Measure our PR successes in relation to awareness and impact

Requirements

  • 5+ years PR experience 
  • Experience running public relations efforts at an enterprise technology company
  • PR agency experience
  • Experience in enterprise software, open source or developer public relations
  • Experience with technology product announcements
  • Proven experience in working with PR agency in the past
  • Strong media relations skills and a passion for PR
  • A natural storyteller with excellent writing skills
  • Creative, thoughtful and passionate about storytelling
  • Able to coordinate across many teams and perform in fast-moving startup environment
  • Proven ability to be self-directed and work with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • You share our values, and work in accordance with those values
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines consistently
