GitLab is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) Manager to join our growing team. As a SDR Manager at GitLab, you’ll get the opportunity to lead a team of SDRs who are generating qualified meetings and pipeline for GitLab’s Sales organization. You’ll help your team perform and exceed expectations by training, coaching, and mentoring them to drive impactful results. You’ll also partner closely with other SDR Managers, as well as our Marketing and Sales teams to align on strategic business initiatives, improve processes, and ultimately drive revenue for GitLab.

Don’t have a ton of knowledge about GitLab yet? Don’t worry. We have an extensive onboarding and training program, and you’ll be provided with the necessary DevOps and GitLab knowledge to fulfill your role, and mentor your team.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Train other members of the SDR Team to identify, contact, and create qualified opportunities
  • Ensure SDR team members improve performance and abilities over time by providing coaching and feedback in recurring 1:1s
  • Leverage creative marketing and sales tactics to help the SDR team prospect and engage with multiple buyer personas to introduce GitLab’s value
  • Hire and onboard new SDRs, ensuring their success
  • Work closely with the Events and Digital teams on Field events and targeted ad and nurture campaigns
  • Partner closely with Sales and other members of the SDR Leadership team to improve opportunity management and qualification processes
  • Partner with Sales, Senior SDR Manager, as well as the Sales Director to identify key company accounts to develop
  • Participate in and travel to QBR and Sales Kickoff events throughout the year
  • Work in collaboration with Content, Marketing Program Managers, and Product Marketing to develop effective messaging for outbound communications to your team’s assigned accounts

You should apply if you have:

  • Experience in sales, sales operations, marketing, or customer service for a technical product
  • Leadership experience in a high growth environment, preferably in sales development or a similar field
  • The ability to actively listen and creatively solve problems
  • A passion for customers and the desire and ability to build authentic relationships
  • An understanding of B2B software, Open Source software, and the developer product space
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce preferred)
  • Passion and curiosity around technology
  • An openness to learning, and using GitLab and Git (we use our own product daily!)
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • The ability/desire to travel about 20% for this role

Also, we know it’s tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap. You don’t have to match all the listed requirements exactly to apply! We value diverse experience, so go for it and submit an application if GitLab sounds like a place you’d like to join.

What it’s like to work here:

The culture here at GitLab is something we’re incredibly proud of. Because GitLabbers are currently located in more than 63 different countries, you’ll spend your time collaborating with kind, talented, and motivated colleagues from across the globe. Some of the benefits you’ll be entitled to vary by the region or country you’re in. However, all GitLabbers are fully remote and receive a "no ask, must tell" paid-time-off policy, where we don’t count the number of days you take off annually. You can work incredibly flexible hours, enabled by our asynchronous approach to communication. We’ll also help you set up your home office environment, cover your home internet subscription, pay for your membership to a co-working space, and contribute to the travel costs associated with meeting other GitLab employees across the world. Also, every year or so, we all get together at our Contribute event.
