Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Director of Software Engineering to be a key leader in managing our Twilio SendGrid engineering teams. The person in this role will be responsible for the development of software systems that touch every aspect of Twilio SendGrid customer experience, from sign-up and onboarding, to package management and billing. This position is critical in supporting Twilio’s revenue growth as we continue to build new applications and partnerships that expand into adjacent market spaces. 

Who?

Twilio is looking for a leader who lives Twilio Magic and has a demonstrated track record of leading multiple engineering managers and overseeing a distributed engineering team. They also have:

  • 5+ years experience in managing software engineering organizations.
  • Experience with front-end and back-end technology leadership.
  • Passion for developing the next generation of engineering leaders within your organization and providing an environment for learning and growth
  • Communication skills across multiple levels of the organization
  • Have the technical ability to understand software and recognize areas of product integration, discuss product roadmaps, and engage with product managers.
  • Experience with billing and account platforms is a plus.
  • Technically savvy and experience with the cloud, APIs, communications, enterprise software, devices, and mobility is a plus. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Twilio's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role if hired in Colorado. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well. 

Salary:

Denver/Boulder Metro:

Salary Range: $177,024 - $243,408

Rest of Colorado:

Salary Range: $165,960 - $228,195

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
