Hi there!

We're looking for a Sr. Manager, Agile to build/manage our new team of Agile Practitioners at Zapier.  We are building the next generation Zapier platform including, but not limited to, moving from monolith to multiple services, working across different departments within the Engineering and Architecture departments, and helping to meet Zapier’s initiatives to democratize automation by making our tools easy to use for our customers.

Interested in helping teams build the infrastructure and tools that power automation for millions of professionals? Then read on…

Zapier is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.

You're motivated by helping Agilists juggle multiple stakeholders, requirements, and inputs and distill all of it down to a clear set of priorities and implementation plans in order to help teams get great stuff done.

About You

  • You’ve previously built and managed a team of Agile Practitioners skilled in Scrum and Kanban. You know how to coach Agilists in growing and fine-tuning their agile skills.
  • Your team has helped lead both single teams and multiple coordinated teams through their deliverables.
  • Developing processes to organize multiple work streams is natural to you. You leverage tools to ensure maximum productivity. You know Scrum and Kanban extremely well and are comfortable applying the right agile process to the problem. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and help.
  • You effortlessly work across department lines to gather feedback, gain traction on solutions, and rally resources to address your needs. You are able to articulate plans, progress, and challenges in both a written and verbal manner to folks of varying technical ability.
  • You’re conversant in SaaS software stacks. APIs, technical documentation, and technical requirements are all familiar territory.
  • You're adaptable. You've been in fast-growing companies and know-how to build, change, and adapt to the needs of a company as it grows.

Things You’ll Likely Do

Zapier is a small, fast-growing, and remote-first company, so you'll likely get experience on many different projects across the organization. That said, here are some things you'll probably do:

  • Help us build up our agile capabilities across our engineering, product, and design (EPD) organizations.
  • Hire and mentor agile practitioners.
  • Work with engineering, architecture, and product stakeholders to build roadmaps for coordinated initiatives.
  • Create and manage a unified system for prioritizing and backlogging work in tandem with the teams in the Systems Engineering organization. Apply prioritization skills when faced with ambiguous product scenarios.
  • Ensure projects are adequately scoped and detailed with clear acceptance criteria for engineers to carry forward with minimal context switching.
  • Communicate challenges/blockers across Product and System zones
  • Report progress on goals (OKRs) to the greater Zapier team.
  • As part of our All Hands Support initiative, help customers have the best experience with Zapier as possible.
